The fundraiser we are proposing is a Fun-run that will consist of 15+ obstacles and will be open to anyone 12 years of age and above. Ticket prices will be $40.00 per person. The first 100 registered participants will receive a free tee-shirt. The date is July 16, 2022 and will run from 9am until 430pm. All permits and licensing needed will be funded by Victim Services. We have also acquired a number of volunteers from first responding agencies. We will be offering food for purchase, “Kindness looks good on you” Swag, and one of the local breweries will be providing alcohol for purchase as well. A number of local community partners will be providing educational booths in order to inform our district of the crisis and the need for attention on these areas of violence.
Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence is an extremely important topic of conversation and as a Victim Service based organization, we feel strongly about bringing the proper awareness to our community. Public Safety Canada reported that Human trafficking affected over 511 victims in 2019. These numbers continue to increase each year. “Kindness looks good on you” is working toward a world without violence toward persons. Through supporting survivors, community agencies and our team of crisis workers, this fundraiser gives survivors and victims’ a safe place to recover from trauma and the ability to rebuild their lives.
